Thanks, hun, and yeah, I hope nobody ever thinks of me as "respectable"!! ;D And how does it feel to be married? Well, in some ways not that different as we've already been together longer than some folks are married, but in other ways it feels really weird. Over the past few years, people wrongly called me "Mrs Pearson" that many times I'm already kind of used to it, but it does still feel a bit strange to think that, when they do it now, they're actually using my correct name. The other thing that still feels a bit strange is when I look at my hand. As I think you know, ever since I was 18, I'd always worn a fake wedding ring to head off any unwanted attention. Well, I stopped wearing it a couple of years ago when we got officially engaged and was given a lovely 2-carat diamond engagement ring. (Yeah, I know - a big-ass diamond! No idea how much it cost, but ) Now, when I look at my hand, it feels really strange to see a wedding ring there next to my engagement ring, and even stranger to think it's not a fake and really is my wedding ring, there to show people that I really am married. Apart from that, things haven't been that different - although we have been doing rather a lot of what newlyweds tend to do, so I'm a bit tired and sore at the moment! ;D And what do my friends and family think? They all love it, as do my in-laws. They've all been hoping we'd get around to it someday, and I think we surprised them a little as we only told them all the day before the ceremony. Although I haven't seen them yet, my BFF's Cricket and Diana are especially happy about it, even if they are also a little mad at me for beating them both to it and being the first to get married!

OMG, Jo, that's wonderful news!! And I know how strange it feels, because I got married last summer and I'm now Mrs Katie Harrison. So I know exactly what you mean about getting used to a new name and seeing and feeling the wedding ring there on your finger. Just out of curiosity, what kind of ring did you go for - a fancy one or a plain band? And have you got your hubby to wear one too - mine won't! So what's next for you?

Sorry for the delay in replying - been really busy just lately! (Belated) Congratulations, Katie! So I'm not the only married woman here, then?! What kind of wedding ring am I wearing? Just a good old-fashioned plain gold band, although I did go for a 4mm-wide heavyweight one. And yeah, hubby wears one too - I made sure of that!! As for what's next for me, well, apart from finally finishing my Ph.D. this year, I have got another rather exciting thing happening in the summer too. Here's a little clue for you - see if you can guess what it is:

Congratulations again, Jo! I know you've said before that you've wanted a family, so I can guess that you're really happy right now. When are you due?

Thanks, Adrian, and yeah, happy doesn't even begin to describe how I feel right now. When am I due? The end of August, so another five months to go.

Oh, Katie, it's soooo hard to describe, but it feels wonderful! :-) It's hard to believe, but I'm now six months along, and yes, I'm definitely showing. Little bump is now moving (and kicking quite hard at times!), but up to now I've not had any strange cravings or anything like that - Just a tiny little bit of sickness to start with. It does seem very strange to feel the movement inside me but, at the same time, I get an incredible thrill when I do. Was it planned? Not really, as we weren't specifically trying, but we did stop taking precautions after we got married and, given how often we, ermm, well, you know, it was bound to happen sooner rather than later! Anyway, here's the latest bump picture (24 weeks) for you to enjoy.

That's a beautiful bump, Jo - I'm soooo jealous! I bet it's a bit bigger now, though... So how are things going now, how much longer to go, and are you planning a natural or c-section delivery? I know which I'd prefer, but I also know that everyone has their own preference.

I know which I'd prefer, but I also know that everyone has their own preference. Hi, Katie, and sorry for the delay - As you can no doubt appreciate, things have been a bit hectic these past few weeks, plus I've been suffering a bit. Apart from the above, things have been going OK, and I've just got a couple of weeks to go now as my due date is the 24th. So yeah, little bump isn't so little now - in fact, I'm HUGE and spend all of the time feeling like a beached whale!! But there are lighter moments, such as when I'm sitting there resting my hands on my bump and they suddenly get very firmly kicked off (Oww!!). And I've been really lucky that I've not had any swelling in my ankles or elsewhere, so I've not had to take my wedding and engagement rings off. (That's something that's really important to me because I promised hubby that now that wedding ring is on my finger, it's there to stay and I'm never taking it off even temporarily!) And I'm hoping for a natural delivery if at all possible. I know it'll hurt, and that I'll be sore for ages afterwards, but I really want to do it that way if I can. My Mom, who went through it three times, has told me that it really is an amazing experience and I won't regret it, but that it will hurt like nothing I can ever imagine. So I'm a bit nervous about it all, but hubby is being absolutely wonderful and helping to take my mind off it as much as he can.

Hey, guys! Sorry for the delay in posting again, but I've been a bit busy this past few days. The doctors got their prediction right about my due date, and I went into labour in the early hours of Sunday morning. 15 hours later, look what arrived: Say Hi to Samantha Rose Pearson, and isn't she gorgeous?!! I got my wish to avoid a C-section, and she was born 100% the natural way. My Mom was right about it being really painful, and I'm still quite sore now. But she was also right about it being an incredibly wonderful and unmissable experience - although I didn't think that at the time!! Hubby was absolutely fantastic all the way through, even when I was swearing at him through the pain , and he's as thrilled as I am at our wonderful and beautiful little girl. While I enjoyed being pregnant (most of the time), I think I'm going to enjoy being a mom even more, even if it is already quite tiring what with all the nighttime feeds etc...
