Well, today's the day we fly back to the UK, so I won't be here much for the next few hours...
We're on an early evening flight out of San Francisco, direct to Heathrow, so I'll be here on and off for about the next six hours, and then we've got to get going to the airport for the long marathon of check-in and security checks. We land in the UK about lunchtime Sunday, and it'll be about 7pm UK time before we get to our house in Manchester. Sadly, we're not flying First Class this time, as we can't afford it, but we have splashed out a little on going Business Class rather than Cattle Class Economy...
So don't panic if you don't hear from me for the next few hours. It doesn't mean we've had another quake here - it means I'm on my way UK-bound once more!!!

Bon Voyage, Jo! Thanks, hun! Actually, this is the bit my b/f loves the most - When we fly over here to California, because he's on a UK passport, he has to go through all the Spanish Inquisition when we arrive, while I, with my US passport, just go straight through. But, when we fly back to the UK, because it's easier for me to travel on my US passport rather than my UK one, I'm the one who has to go through all the big checks when we get back to the UK, while he has it much easier!!!!

Actually, I really do feel for him, because I know what it's like - I always had to go through exactly the same thing before I got my US citizenship (as I'm sure Mischa did too), and it really isn't nice.

I've just checked the online arrivals info for Heathrow, and what I assume was Jo's flight landed safely on time three hours ago. So I guess we'll be hearing from her again in a few hours...

Lol a 13 hour trip in Economy would be a nightmare Is economy really that bad? I've been on a short economy flight (couple of hours) and that was fine for me, although the legroom was pretty poor. Good idea! Welcome back Jo to the isles where you are watched more than any other country by CCTV, isles where the economy is suffering, isles where our government is completely incompetent (and the opposition isn't much better, I can relate to America now!), and there is a general sense of optimism when most of us really crave the despair of when everything goes wrong, and I wouldn't change it for the world!

Well I mean when I'm going to my dads house or when I went to Paris Berlin England etc. I fly economy (actually there's not even an option, because the flight is so short) but I can imagine going to America economy would be a bitch. I wouldn't know, I haven't been since I was 7. ;D Jo are you nearly home??

I wouldn't know, I haven't been since I was 7. ;D Jo are you nearly home?? Yeah, we're back safely - we got in about half an hour ago... We've just cracked open a bottle of Merlot (I know - what a surprise!!!! ;D), and we're just about to order a few pizzas. And yeah, 13 hours in Economy really would be torture - fortunately, our flight was just 10 hours, but that's bad enough! That's why we always try to get an upgrade if we can (or book Business Class if we can get a good deal at the time...). And it's the legroom that's the worst for me too - even at 5' 10", there's not enough for me, so I can imagine what it's like for anyone over 6'... But the service in Economy is just so poor too - especially when you've experienced First Class!! Oh, Greg, hun - you're such an optimist!!! You left out the wind and rain that welcomed us back to the UK! (OMG, I'm already missing the California sunshine... *sniff* ) Still, we can at least console ourselves with the thought that, on both sides of the Atlantic, change is coming soon! (Yaaayyyyy, Go Obama!!!!! )
