That's amazing, Jo!! Irvin(e) is in the O.C., and near Mischa Anne's house! It doesn't get better than that! (Chia is going to say to herself: "yes it does"!)

Sorry I've not been here much, Jo. I have just swung by every now and then, just to see what's happening, but I've not logged in.
But you're right - it has gone very quiet here just lately. I hope everything and everyone is OK.
And I'm glad to hear that the fires aren't near either you or Mischa.... (And LMAO at the Irvin/Irvine coincidence - how appropriate!!!!!)

Kidnapped by the "bashers"? Random Thought: I want to learn a foreign language, I am not sure what to choose from French, German and Spanish. I'd love to learn Russian but I would rather start with an easier language and work up to it. I am siding on the Spanish side, but one thing I am really sceptical about learning foreign languages is the "masculine" and "feminine" division of words. I mean, how can custard be considered "feminine" (French) is beyond me!

I've never been that good with languages either... I did both French and German at school, but only because I had to, and now I can hardly remember any of either - just isolated fragments really. If it helps, then at school, they started us off with French, and we didn't start German until a year or two later. But Chia's really good with languages, so maybe she can give you some better advice??...

I mean, how can custard be considered "feminine" (French) is beyond me! Why thanks for choosing Italian huh? lol tut tut... Languages are my passion!! ;D If you choose French I can help! Hearing a GIRL talking French is damn charming/sexy...k, that was unnecessary, LOL. Anyway, yep in French LOTS of words that in Italian are masc. are fem. and viceversa.......hehe weird I know xD gotta learn them by heart! German I did it for 3 years in High School..then I dropped it at Uni...you have to be very fond of latin if you decide to go with German hun!! There are tons of similarities (like cases and declinations ) ...and the words are endless lol cause they add everything as prefixes or suffixes xD Spanish I've never studied it (and I kinda regret it ) but you know attending a Uni focused on Languages I've got heaps of friends who chose it....I think I would have loved it..! It's so hot! (and I hate when ppl say Italian and Spanish are the same! WTF?! They are NOT.) Good luck hon ;D (what ab Chinese?? )

Please forgive me! Italian is still very much under consideration, I just forgot to write it down!
Chinese?! Are you kidding me?! Phonetic language + new alphabet = very difficult to learn! I'm definitely thinking of Western European languages at the moment. So difficult to choose!

Random Thought:
Will there every be peace in the Middle East, or at the very least Israel and neighbouring countries? I mean, we (UK) helped cause it, surely we can rectify it somehow! Pacifism FTW!

That's a very complicated question, Greg - Because not only do you have the various political differences, but there's the religious differences too. However, I think we can be fairly confident that there'll never be another all-out war between Israel and the surrounding Arab nations, the same as there was in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973. And there's a very simple reason why I can say that with a fair degree of confidence - Although they've never officially admitted it, it's pretty much an "open secret" that Israel has been an undeclared nuclear power since mid-1967. That's why, in 1991, when the Scuds started dropping on Israel, the US rushed Patriot batteries there - Although they didn't say so at the time, the US spy satellites had spotted that the Israelis had begun to move their own ballistic missiles from the storage bunkers to their launch sites. And, unlike the Iraqi Scuds, the Israeli missiles DID have nuclear warheads fitted - And the Israelis later admitted that, if any Scud landing in Israel was found to have had a chemical warhead fitted, then they would have launched their own missiles at Baghdad! So that's why we probably won't see another full-blown war there, just the current cycle of terror and counter-terror. And as we know from past events in Northern Ireland, that can be very hard to stop...

But say, moving on around 20 or so years, when the oil reserves are running dry and economies are suffering, do you think that there will be a World War 3 for these reasons, and if so, do you think that the majority of the fighting will be concentrated in the Middle East?
