Oh, hun, I tell you, my dad was sooooo happy when he got it late last year - he'd been after one for years, but had never found a decent one for a good price. And it's a gorgeous car too. His ultimate dream car is a silver Aston-Martin DB5 (I wonder why??? ), but they're just too rare and expensive... The TVR that he had was a really nice car (if a bit unreliable at times, but what TVR isn't???), but this one is just sooooooo I've got to admit that I've never been too keen on any of the Jeep range. When I was at school, a lot of the girls there got given Jeeps of various kinds when they passed their tests (it was either that or a BMW or Merc...), but I got my Bug instead - and I know which I prefer!!!! (I'm not kidding, hun - there were that many BMW's and Merc's there that the student parking lot at the school did look like the forecourt of a high-end German car dealership!!!!!!)

OH MY GOD A ASTON MARTIN DB5, those are sooooo amazingly beautiful! I think my dreamcar is this one. A Mercedes (yeah, sorry!) cabrio 250 SE, in red! Haha! that last part does make me think of The O.C. (the first time Lindsay was on!!!) HAHA! I already see you riding at the student parking lot with all those merc's andso, and you are coming up there with a bug. Oh hun, i love youu! Nah, my Jeep Cherokee.... We bought it secondhand (i guess it was 3000 dollars orso) and we bought it because we have horses and when i was going to a competition, the parking lot was just made of grass, and when it was rainy there was mudd, and we figured; a jeep cherokee has a 4 wheel drive. This could be mine, it looks exactly the same.

Every time I watch The O.C. and there's any scenes at the school, I always find myself wondering just when they were at my high school - the one I went to was just soooo like that, those parts of the show could almost have been a documentary of my school experience!! (For those who don't know, Marin County, where we are now, is quite a posh area with a lot of very expensive houses, and is kind of the SF version of Orange County, so you get the same kind of people living there, and the same kind of kids at school!!!...)

Oh yeah, my high school was kind of like that too, with all the usual different types there... But what gave it a whole extra dimension was the fact that a lot of the kids came from very wealthy and slightly disfunctional families, and quite a few of them were really spoiled.
We've all seen The O.C. (I hope) and the kind of lifestyle it depicts, but when you look at the 2000 census figures, well, Orange County is nothing compared to Marin County!... According to all the figures, Marin County has the highest per capita income of any county in the whole of the country at almost $45,000 - while the per capita income in Orange County is only $25,000... The median household income in Marin County is about $71,000, compared to just under $62,000 for Orange County. And, according to BMW dealerships, Marin County has the highest density of BMWs in the whole country!!!!!!
When you combine all of that basic information about the general areas with the fact that, around where we live in Marin, the average house price is around $1.5 million and rising rapidly, I think you'll probably start to get some idea of the kind of kids I was at school with and the lifestyles they led. And, from that, I think you can probably start to figure out what life in and around the school was like...
So, whenever I watch The O.C., I can look at just about any of the characters there and say to myself "yes, I know a Marissa" or "I know a Seth". To me, they're more than fictional characters on some TV show, because I went to school with their real-life versions!!!!
