Mischa Forums
Rules & Regulations
One of the most important rules about this forum is that, for now at least, there are very few rules. Up to now, the Mischa fan community has been a very friendly place which seems to attract the right kind of people and basically regulate itself. As the forum’s admin, I’d like for this situation to continue here and it’s up to you, the members of this forum, to make sure it does. So there are very few rules for now, but if others prove to be needed, they will be added here when necessary.
1. Please try and remember that this is primarily a Mischa Barton forum, run by her fans for her fans. We’re here to support Mischa and her career, and not to bash her. It’s fine to be critical of her and express your opinions, even negative ones, such as “I don’t like that outfit” or “I don’t think she put in a very good performance there”. What we don’t want here are pointless hate messages such as “Mischa sucks” and that sort of thing. Mischa bashers are not welcome here!
2. When you post, please remember that, apart from certain reserved sections, this forum is open to, and viewable by, everyone of all age groups. What we write here can have an effect on how others in the wider world view and perceive Mischa. So, please try to keep the wilder emotions in check – especially the negative ones. This can be difficult at times, especially when discussing the way in which some people insist on bashing Mischa, but please try to keep yourselves under control. Also, try to avoid using some of the more extreme language in the public sections of the forum. You will notice that some words and phrases are automatically censored. There’s only a few for now, but if circumstances dictate, then more will be added to the list.
3. Please be respectful to other members of this forum. Up to now, the Mischa fans community has been a very nice place to be, where everyone has got along really well. Remember that everyone has the right to their own opinions, and just because you don’t personally agree with them doesn’t make them any less valid than your own. What we don’t want here is for any “flame wars” to break out between members. If one should erupt, then the global moderators or myself will take action against the members involved. Any such action will usually be a warning, followed by a suspension of membership if that should prove necessary.
4. The posting of spam or porn is strictly forbidden. Any member found doing this will be banned!
5. Unlike some forums, it’s OK here to go off-topic in a Mischa-related thread. However, please try to get back on topic as quickly as possible. If you specifically want to talk about anything not Mischa-related, then please try to limit that to the “Off-Topic” section of the forum.
6. Avatars: The maximum size for an avatar picture is 100 by 100 pixels.
7. Signatures: In order to stop the forum becoming clogged with excessively large signatures, the following limits apply:
So, using these guidelines, you can have one large image, your “Mischa Barton Army” banner if you have one, and up to six lines of text. Or, you can have your large image and MBA banner, plus four small banner images in pairs on two lines, and two lines of text.
If you have any questions about your signature, please seek advice and guidance from the global moderators or myself.
8. This forum offers lots of fun and interesting options for the formatting of posts, such as big fonts, scrolling text, shadows and that sort of thing. Please try not to go overboard with the use of these, and only use them when you really need to draw attention to something really important.
9. When quoting posts, try not to quote the entire post, just the bit you really need. Also, try not to quote pictures, especially full-sized ones, unless it is really necessary to make it clear which picture you are referring to in your reply.
10. When posting pictures, please limit full-sized images to no larger than 600 by 600 pixels. Over this size, please use clickable thumbnails. For now, the acceptable image hosts are Photobucket and Imageshack.com. If you wish to use another host, please clear it beforehand with the global moderators or myself. The use of Imagevenue.com and Paintedover.com is not allowed, as these hosts include porn ads which could result in the deletion without warning of this forum by Proboards for violation of their TOS. Any posts using these banned hosts will be edited to remove the banned content. Also, Proboards have recently become very strict about copyright violations, and have deleted many forums without warning for posting images that break copyright. As a result of this, please just post links to images or image galleries, rather than the image itself (even in clickable thumbnail form). That way, we don't give Proboards any justification to delete this forum on the grounds of image copyright violation. Anyone found breaking this rule will be warned, and the offending post edited or deleted. Obviously, this rule does not apply if they are your own images and you personally own the copyright - For example if they are pictures of your own meeting with Mischa - And you are then free to post them as long as they don't break the rules on size as detailed above.
And finally:
11. The moderators and myself reserve the right to edit or remove any post here. Whenever possible, an explanation will be provided via a PM to the original poster, and also by a note in the message itself.
OK, so that’s all of the heavy stuff out of the way… If you all remember those few basic rules, play nice, and treat everyone else the way you’d want them to treat you, I’m sure we’re all going to have a really fun time here!!!

7. Signatures: In order to stop the forum becoming clogged with excessively large signatures, the following limits apply:
- A maximum of 10 (ten) lines of text.
- One large image, up to 500 pixels wide by 250 pixels high, with a maximum file size of 40kb, which replaces two of the ten lines of text.
- Up to four small “banner” images up to 25 pixels high by 500 pixels wide, each replacing two lines of text. However, if two small banner images are displayed side-by-side on the same line, then the pair of images just counts as two lines of text, not as four.
So, using these guidelines, you can have one large image, your “Mischa Barton Army” banner if you have one, and up to six lines of text. Or, you can have your large image and MBA banner, plus four small banner images in pairs on two lines, and two lines of text.
