'The Beautiful Life' cancelled: CW dumps Mischa Barton show after two episodesTroubled actress Mischa Barton is out of work.
And she’s not alone. That’s because there won’t be a long life for the CW’s “The Beautiful Life.”
The network shut down production on the glitzy drama produced by Ashton Kutcher and starring Barton after just two episodes, a network official confirmed Friday.
The series was set in the high-gloss world of the New York modeling scene. Besides Barton, the show starred Corbin Bleu and Elle McPherson.
“The Beautiful Life” was paired with “America’s Next Top Model” Wednesdays at 9 p.m. It launched with middling reviews, and to an audience of 1.4 million viewers, according to The Nielsen Company. The audience dropped to just 1 million in the second week.
Six episodes of the show were shot before the CW pulled the plug. The show is off the network’s lineup immediately, and a replacement will soon be named, the official said.
The CW will air reruns of "Melrose Place" in the Wednesday at 9 slot.www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/2009/09/25/2009-09-25_mischa_barton_is_out_of_a_job_cw_cancels_the_beautiful_life_after_just_two_episo.html

I read 4 articles so far on the cancellation, and they all read "Mischa Barton's show cancelled". If the show was a success, I wonder if it would be called "Mischa Barton's show".

Maybe she should try a spell working here in the UK, where things aren't so tough for new shows and they tend to be given until at least the end of the first season to find their feet??? (After all, as a British citizen, she wouldn't need a work permit!!! ) You're probably right about that, Adrian!

Thanks for the alert, Irvin - Hopefully, we'll maybe see the unscreened episodes on our TVs at some point in the future...
