Good idea maree, i think season four was an absolute joke. when people ask me how many seasons of the oc there are i say three. Its completely earased from my memory. they should have left it how it was. i cant believe they even tried to make another season. i mean it just dosnt work, it wouldnt have worked if even if it was summer seth or ryan that died.

Dude, I know. And it was so...blech. They tried so hard to erase Marissa. In the flashback when they were little kids - fourth or fifth grade - they deliberately left out Marissa when she was a kid but included everyone else, including the waste of air time that Taylor turned out to be.

Oh- dont even get me started about the flashback! They had Holly and Summer get together later on to see like what it would be like if Summer didnt get with Seth, and they were like Oh I missed you! Its so sucky how we lost touch! bla bla..I was like HELLO doesnt anyone remember that HOLLY screwed over MARISSA *Summers best friend?!* it had nothing to do with losing touch it was intentional!! It was so annoying the writers just completly erased her except for a stupid moment where Summer hands Julie a necklace with her in it..but other than that GONE.

I know. And Ryan and Taylor just didn't make sense. They spoke...well, never, during season three. The writers never built up to it. One moment Ryan's grieving, the next Taylor's using him to get out of her idiotic marriage, and there were those creepy fantasy scenes. Not to mention Seth and Summer were boring, there was no drama, or any chemistry in the cast.

I'd also like to point out that absolutely nothing happened in season four. In the first three seasons, if you missed an episode, you'd be like, "Crap, I just missed ten new plotlines". In season four, it was, "Wait...shouldn't something have happened by now?!"

Exactly...thats why I heard Josh wanted to kill off Marissa character to "make it simpler" but it wasnt, it was just stupid and boring..but I wont go into all that now lol !

Heh, feel free to elaborate. There is much ranting to be done about this show. He wanted a creative reinvention or something for S4, but there was nothing new. Just Taylor acting like a child, Seth and Summer going 'uhhh, do I love you?' and Kirsten getting knocked up was seriously out of the blue as well. The humour wasn't funny. It wasn't S1&2 humour, it was just lame, it was like watching a bad sitcom.

AGREED! i mean when ryan said that he.... he... "LOVED" taylor i think i almost smashed the t.v. i wasted an hour every thursday watching that stupid season. I mean im ashamed to say it was part of The O.C!pfft, i liked taylor at the end of season three, but when she got with RYAN GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR thats not love, its not even lust, that whole relationship was crap, worst than lindsay and ryan!

I don't even think it counted as lust. They kissed and I was like "Er...chemistry anyone?" They had nothing in common, and not in a good way. They were just dull as. Taylor was always acting like an idiot, and in S4 Ryan had all the character of the brick.

OMG do not even get me started on this season!!! I hated it!! It was horrible like previously said there was no chemistry between the actors!!! Ryan Taylor were completely horrible.....I don't even know why Josh put them together!!! And than not to mention Rachel and Adam's chemistry sucked ass!! I mean I know that they broke up but still it's called acting people that's why you were hired!! And than obviously the fact that Marissa wasn;t even on it or not mentioned just it infuriated me!! Wow that ranting felt good lol!!

Wow that ranting felt good lol!! Yeah had Marissa not been killed off, Taylor wouldnt have even been there! They just added another female lead besides Summer for Ryan to have so they didnt have to "start over with a new character" it was so stupid..And I agree about S/S they didnt have the same spark they usually do it was pathetic. I dont get why so many people liked s4.

Season 4 was a complete joke, I am never watching it again, I don't know why I watched it in the first place. Ryan and Taylor have got to be the most bizarre couple I have ever seen, no chemistry whatsoever either. I agree, they completely shoved them down our throats! To this day I do not know why they killed Marissa, they should have realized the show wouldn't work without the fab four..and to replace Marissa with Taylor is even more infuriating. I hate it when people say Taylor was not supposed to have replaced Marissa when it's obvious she was..Ryan's girlfriend, Summer's new best friend, part of the Cohen family. I mean, I don't know how anyone could like Taylor as she is so annoying and psycho, she was so mean in Season 3, everyone hated her, and they think they can make everyone love her in Season 4. Does anyone else hate how on the DVD boxset on the first disc, there is a picture of Ryan and Taylor?!! That made me so mad, it's unbelievable. Also, the rest of the show was completely boring as well, Seth and Summer had no chemistry any more, they totally ruined that couple too. Everything else was equally as dull. It would have been better if there was no forth Season. To me there isn't!

I was wondering why they didn't show Marissa in that flashback! Of course, they showed Taylor though I was so mad, it's like they were really trying to erase Marissa's memory from the whole show. She was a huge part of The OC for THREE YEARS, and Taylor was a background character for a few months. They just can't get away with it, the injustice of it is sickening

That flashback annoys the crap out of me. Like we wouldn't notice mini-Marissa had mysteriously vanished. Maybe she was off sick, right, Josh? And it's so strange how Taylor was never mentioned before those few episodes she did in season three...when everyone hated her. But of course, Summer needed a best friend, Ryan needed a girlfriend, and Taylor needed someone to get her out of her marriage. It was so tacked on, but "the core three" doesn't have the same ring to it, right? Nice going, Josh.
