Thanks for those links - now all I need is a high-speed connection so I can watch them!!!! Hey Jo, do they have Internet Cafes in the UK? Not really now - there used to be quite a few, but most of them shut down a few years back when home dial-up access became quite cheap. (The cafes used to charge about £5 per hour, while home connections cost about twice that for an entire month, so the cafe's kind of got priced out of the market...) About my only proper high-speed access at the moment - unless I'm home in CA - is via my b/f's computer at the university (or my brother's there...). Because they're both classed as research students, they each share an office with other research students and have computers which are on a different network to the ones I normally have access to. The research student network is unlimited, and can access any sites you want to, while the normal student one has a whole load of blocks, firewalls and other nasties on it to stop us visiting sites we're not supposed to. Plus, as there's about 200+ computers on the student network just in the building I'm in, even though it's theoretically a high-speed broadband connection, having to share bandwidth with all of the other computers on the network means that the actual speeds you get aren't that much better than dial-up!!! So my only chance of getting a high-speed connection is to go and see my b/f in his office when it's quiet and borrow his computer there!!!!!! And we can't get a broadband line put in at our house because it's only rented, and it's up to the landlord to do stuff like that (the same as the Sky box - they had it put in, and we just pay them for the monthly subscription...)...

my god i never knew you couldn't get a broadband line/box i would go crazy Unfortunately, when you rent a place (as my b/f, my brother and I do), you can't always have everything you'd like to. We're actually pretty lucky with the house we've got, as it's really meant for four people each with their own room, plus a communal bathroom, kitchen/dining room and lounge, and there's only the three of us there using two bedrooms (the ones with double beds). So we've got loads of space, plus two spare bedrooms which friends and family can use when they come to visit us (or that we can use as offices/work rooms when we need to). Plus we've got Sky and a load of other stuff too - it's just that the landlord has said he's not going to get broadband installed there for a while yet, so we've got to wait until he does...
